Importing a car from Japan to Mauritius: common questions
- How much does it cost to import a car from Japan to Mauritius?
- We quote the landed (CIF) cost at Mauritius: the car's FOB price in Japan, ocean freight to the port, marine insurance (1.5% of the FOB price, at least $45), in one figure. Ask for any car's price on WhatsApp and we send it. Import duty, taxes and port charges in Mauritius are not included: Mauritius's customs authority sets them, and your clearing agent pays them at the port.
- How long does shipping from Japan to Mauritius take?
- About 28 days at sea from Japan to Port Louis (23 to 35 days, depending on the vessel and the sailing). Allow one to three weeks before departure for inspection and booking space on a vessel.
